Founded in 1961 by the talented Dorothy Hewitt, Beyond the Fringe has been a cherished part of the community for over six decades. Dorothy’s dedication to her craft and her genuine care for every person who walked through the door made our salon a true haven for all. Her legacy lives on in every cut, color, and conversation, and while we mourn her loss following her passing in 2025, Dorothy’s spirit continues to guide and inspire us.

Today, the salon is lovingly run by Lian Rosa, a former employee of Dorothy’s for over 30 years. Lian’s journey in hairdressing began at the age of 16, and she has built a loyal and loving family of clients over the years. To Lian, our clients aren’t just clients; they are friends, companions, and cherished chatterboxes who have become a vital part of the Beyond the Fringe family.
